I am Stephany Geiser, Peruvian-Swiss designer. My first degree was Graphic Design and Management and I graduated Cum Laude (Lima, Peru). Years later, as an enthusiast of textile arts, I decided to continue my education and moved to Switzerland. I studied Industrial Design and Production with a specialisation in Textile Design at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. My bachelor thesis received an award by the ZeuginDesign Foundation. Since 2018, I have been working in Switzerland for the Nourison company in Europe as a specialist in the design and production of carpeted floors for luxury hotels in Europe and the world.
My Luxurious
Silk Route
The Luxurious Silk Route Collection contains many meanings and symbolic interpretations; and it brings together places where I have lived and worked during my lifetime. The designs are an homage to my Peruvian origin, where I include iconographic references of ancient pre-Columbian cultures that thrived in Peru. I have put these designs on silk, a material that transports us to the millenarian route that still connects Europe and Asia today. These exclusive accessories have been printed with designs that combine geometric forms from ancient cultures like Paracas and Wari, among others, with modern figures inherited from the Swiss school, creating a unique graphic language that unites the best of different worlds and ages. The result is a product made in Italy, but with a strong Peruvian identity.
During my studies of Management and Graphic Design, I got involved with the artisanal process of screen printing, process that I apply to textile design. My designs were recognised by PromPeru, the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism. I was awarded the Peru Country Brand and was able to represent my nation in national and international trade fairs.
